Be Chinese citizens who support the leadership of the Communist Party of China, are willing to serve the motherland, have good moral character, and abide by laws and regulations.

Be outstanding recent graduates from their current school who have been recommended by the Ministry of Education for exemption from entrance examinations for graduate studies.

Demonstrate strong research interests, innovative consciousness, innovative abilities, and professional competence.

Uphold honesty and integrity, maintain a proper academic demeanor, and have no record of academic misconduct or professional ethical violations.

Be in good physical and mental health and meet the medical examination requirements stipulated by the country and our university.

Before applying, applicants should carefully review whether they meet the application requirements. Applicants who do not meet the criteria will not be admitted, and they will be responsible for any related consequences.

When applying, applicants must select the enrollment department and professional degree category affiliated with the national key laboratory and designate the research direction as the national key laboratory graduate program. Each applicant can only apply to one national key laboratory.

Application Registration:

Applications are submitted online with electronic documents. All applicants must use second-generation ID cards for registration and examination.

Registration Period: August 7, 2023, 12:00 - August 21, 2023, 16:00 (late applications will not be accepted).

Application Process:

(1) Log in to the Tsinghua University Graduate Application Service System (https://yzbm.tsinghua.edu.cn/) and enter the online registration system to fill in personal information as required.

(2) During the opening hours of the Tsinghua University Graduate Application Service System, applicants should fill out the registration information and upload, confirm, and submit the following application materials in electronic document format:

1) Valid ID (second-generation resident ID card)

2) Student ID

3) Personal statement

4) Language proficiency certificate

5) Two letters of recommendation: Applicants invite two experts with the title of associate professor or above related to the applied engineering professional degree category to fill out recommendation letters online. According to the requirements of the application service system, the recommending experts should fill out and upload the recommendation letters within the specified time. Please ensure the original copies of the recommendation letters are properly stored. The written versions should be sent to the Graduate Teaching Office of the department applied to by the applicant, or sealed (signed on the sealed envelope) by the applicant and sent to the Graduate Teaching Office of the department applied to (specific address to be notified by email).

6) Undergraduate academic transcript (including academic ranking certificate)

7) Other additional application materials and their proofs required by the department/national key laboratory.

Note: The last three items (2), (5), (6) are not required for graduates of Tsinghua University.

V. Selection and Conditional Admission

The national key laboratory's full-time doctoral program in engineering adopts an "application-review" system for admissions.

Document Review:

Based on formal review and comprehensive evaluation results, a list of candidates for comprehensive assessment is determined, and applicants are notified to participate in the comprehensive assessment. Application materials will not be returned.

Qualification Review:

The qualification reviewer conducts a qualification review of applicants who pass the document review, examining their qualifications based on the "Application Requirements" in the admission briefing. Applicants who do not participate in the qualification review or fail the review are not allowed to participate in the comprehensive assessment.

Comprehensive Assessment:

The university organizes an expert group to conduct a comprehensive assessment of applicants who have passed the document review and qualification review, selecting candidates for admission.

Recommended Conditional Admission:

The Enrollment Work Leading Group of Tsinghua University School of Engineering selects applicants for conditional admission primarily based on their comprehensive assessment results, comprehensively considering specific enrollment conditions and training conditions, in conjunction with the enrollment plan, and communicates with the applicants on their willingness to accept admission. Conditional admission applicants can log in to the Tsinghua University Graduate Application Service System to view the preliminary admission results.

Confirm Conditional Admission:

Applicants conditionally admitted must, in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Education, their undergraduate schools, and the provincial and municipal admissions offices, log in to the Ministry of Education's recommended exemption service system within the specified time to complete the steps such as filling out preferences, paying registration fees, accepting re-examination confirmation, and accepting pending admission confirmation. Specific website and system opening times will be notified separately on the Tsinghua University Graduate Admissions Website (https://yz.tsinghua.edu.cn).

Qualification Re-examination:

Tsinghua University will conduct a qualification re-examination for all candidates conditionally admitted as recommended graduate students in June of the year of admission. Only those who pass the qualification re-examination and have passed the file review by Tsinghua University can be formally admitted, and Tsinghua University will issue admission notices. Those who fail the qualification re-examination will have their graduate admission qualifications revoked.

The requirements for qualification re-examination are as follows:

(1) Completion of all courses and practical exercises required by the undergraduate curriculum;

(2) No failing grades in the final year of undergraduate study;

(3) No disciplinary actions from application registration to enrollment registration;

(4) Excellent or a score of 80 or above for the undergraduate thesis (graduation design);

(5) Obtaining the undergraduate degree and bachelor's degree certificate before enrolling as a new graduate student at Tsinghua University;

(6) Meeting the standards not lower than those set by the respective units of Tsinghua University (consult the corresponding pre-admission unit for specific inquiries).

VI. Other Matters

The national key laboratory sets up a graduate guidance team to train engineering professional degree graduate students based on the major scientific research tasks undertaken by the laboratory to meet industry demands.

The doctoral students trained in the full-time doctoral program in engineering at national key laboratories are full-time engineering doctors, with a basic study period of 4-5 years. Tuition fees are to be determined.

The university provides on-campus accommodation for students in their first year of enrollment, and accommodation arrangements thereafter are handled by the national key laboratory.

Applicants must ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the application information and all application materials submitted. Those found to have falsified information, violated academic ethics and professional ethics, or engaged in other behaviors that seriously affect the fairness and impartiality of the recommendation process will have their exemption from entrance examination qualifications revoked, and their schools will be notified.
