Tsinghua University State Key Laboratory of Power System Operation and Control cordially invites talents from home and abroad to join us.

Laboratory Introduction

The "State Key Laboratory of Power System Operation and Control" is one of the first 20 benchmark national key laboratories approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology. It was approved for construction in May 2022 and is based at Tsinghua University. It is established based on the optimization and adjustment of the original "National Key Laboratory of Power System and Large-scale Power Equipment Safety Control and Simulation". The original laboratory was approved by the National Planning Commission in 1989 and officially opened to the public after passing the national acceptance on October 17, 1995. Founded by Prof. Jingde Gao, the former president of Tsinghua University, it is one of the first national key laboratories in the field of electrical engineering in China. Under the leadership of Academician Lu Qiang, Academician Han Yingduo, and Academician Ni Weidou, the laboratory has undergone 30 years of development and innovation. It has won the first place in the national key laboratory evaluation organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology once and has been rated as excellent twice. The laboratory is based on the disciplines of electrical engineering and part of power engineering at Tsinghua University, which have been ranked first or A+ in multiple disciplinary evaluations.

The research directions of the laboratory include three areas: New Power System Security Control and Economic Operation, Major Equipment for Energy Conversion and Transmission, and Basic Materials for Power Energy and Power Devices. It is committed to solving major scientific and technological problems in the construction and operation of new power systems, breaking through the basic theories of safe operation of new power systems, and solving key technologies such as power energy devices and major equipment to provide scientific and technological support for the country's "dual-carbon" strategy.

The laboratory warmly welcomes outstanding scholars from overseas to join us. We will provide competitive remuneration and a first-class research platform to ensure the long-term development of talented individuals.
